A brilliantly flame tipped deep water dragon-like coral. The RR Dragon Heart Exclusive Edition fits that description well. Tips of thin branches have a bright fluorescent yellow green ring. These kinds of Acro branch tips have been previously referred to as flame tips. Branch ends range in color from purple to blue to the bright yellow green ring end tip flame. Polyps are a brilliant fluorescent turquoise yellow. Corallites near tips can also develop bright flame green edges.

Reeffarmers received the first edition fragment of the RR Dragon Heart Acro directly from Select Corals in late November 2015. We spotted this coral within the amazing SPS garden of Uchin Chung located in the Fort Worth Dallas Metroplex area. Uchin described how this was an exclusive coral with some very unique attributes. The colony growth form and bright flame tips made the colony a garden LED highlight (see image below). Uchin originally acquired this coral from Raymond Gutierriez of Two Guys Corals located within Orange County California.

Steve Tyree is maintaining a seed section of this coral for Reeffarmers.com in a 8 foot Raceway Gyre BiZonal system. This system is naturally filtered with a semi-cryptic zone and a reef flat exposed zone. In Steve's captive reef the coral is positioned to receive moderate to weak light levels from a 400 watt 20,000 K Radium metal halide. The first edition fragment of this coral was sold privately.
