This incredible USC War Head Exclusive Edition Acropora has some of the most solidly red colored polyps Reeffarmers has ever seen. The red is so intense within the polyp tentacles that it also appears to graft or bleed onto the corallite edges. Each polyp extends a long brilliantly pink colored fleshy polyp. This helps to make the USC War Head one of the more colorful and actively flowing Acropora in the captive market. The main surface pigment appears to be a forest green that can be seen under certain conditions.

Reeffarmers received the first edition fragment of the USC War Head Acro directly from Select Corals in late November 2015. We spotted this coral within the amazing SPS garden of Uchin Chung located in the Fort Worth Dallas Metroplex area. Uchin described how this was an exclusive coral with some very unique attributes. The long term pontential of this coral to morph in captivity is also an added appeal.

Steve Tyree is maintaining a seed section of this coral for Reeffarmers.com in a 8 foot Raceway Gyre BiZonal system. This system is naturally filtered with a semi-cryptic zone and a reef flat exposed zone. In Steve's captive reef the coral is positioned to receive strong to moderate light levels from a 400 watt 20,000 K Radium metal halide. The first edition fragment of this coral was sold at the Reef Currents 2016 event. List price was $300.00 .
