The new Mystic Blueberry Ice Favia is a brilliant colored blue and red Favia similar to the Limited Edition Ice Fire Favia from Atlantis Aquarium. Its blue however is slightly more pastel and that helps give the coral its Blueberry Ice appearence. Each corallite also develops a unique pattern or combination of dark red and pink. Some corallites are half pink and half red. Some corallites are solid red, while others contain a random pattern of distinct red and pink areas. The outer corallite ridges are always Blueberry colored, but some inner corallites develop a dark red inner ridge.

Reeffarmers acquired our seed of this coral directly from The Mystic Reef in September of 2010. Jeremy and Adam had been growing the coral in captivity for 10 months. They believe that is possibly came from Vanuatu. The coral developed its bright blueberry and red coloration in low light. It seems to react positively to feedings and the polyps expand and get puffy. They also maintain the coral within weak water currents.

Steve Tyree is maintaining a seed section of this coral for Reeffarmers.com in a 130 gallon Raceway Gyre BiZonal system. This system is naturally filtered with a semi-cryptic zone and a reef flat exposed zone. In Steve's captive reef the coral is positioned to receive low light levels from a 400 watt 20,000 K Radium metal halide. Reeffarmers price for this coral per small fragment consisting of a single corallite will be determined by the First Edition Live Auction during the 2010 IE-CFM coral show event.

Please note Reeffarmers is no longer taking new reservations for new corals. The current economic conditions are not supportive for reservations that extend for a few years into the future. After this first edition is distributed, we will sell future captive produced fragments on either our Buy It Now page or via a silent auction. We will still list exotic corals as Limited Editions and will continue to build web pages for them.
