Limited Edition Frosted Monster sp. Reeffarmers Seed Section. The Blue
pigmentation of the Frosted Monster is very intense as can be seen in this image. Corallite centers and
corallite mouths are solid bright blue. This blue is a light sky blue or icy blue which explains the
corals name Frosted Monstor.
The Frosted Monster is the most brilliantly blue War Coral-like Favites that Reeffarmers has
seen. This coral really is a super blue war coral. The Frosted Monster develops a solid bright blue
pigmentation within its corallite centers (see image below). The Corallite walls and ridges also
can develop green lines on ridges radiating outward from the corallite center. This coral develops
its most intense blue pigmentation under weak light levels. This coral was originally found in a
Southern California Reef Store by Jose Casas. Reeffarmers received our seed fragment directly from
Jose Casas and he was the person coining the name of Frosted Monster for this coral.
Steve Tyree is maintaining a seed section of this coral for Reeffarmers.com in an 80 gallon
naturally filtered BiZonal system. This system is naturally filtered with a semi-cryptic zone and a
reef flat exposed zone. In Steve's captive reef the coral is positioned to receive moderate to weak
light levels from a 400 watt 20,000 K Radium metal halide. The coral appears to develop its best
combination of colors when exposed to weak light levels. Price is currently $65 per small fragment
containing one corallite. The bimonthly limited edition reservation schedules can be found below.
