The Grinch Montipora is one of the most intensely pigmented of the Reverse Sunset Montipora corals. The original Sunset Montipora was orange with green polyps. Reverse Sunsets are green with orange/red polyps. There are now a few Reverse Sunset Montiporas on the market and the Grinch Montipora is one of the most intensely pigmented of these corals. Its polyps are intense red/orange to orange in color. Surface pigments can be brilliant fluorescing green to yellow/green. In addition to these pigments the corals polyps can also develop internal pink pigments (see image below). This coral is another incredible exotic from the private colleciton of Jason Fox (jafautorepair@yahoo.com). Reeffarmers received our seed fragment directly from Jason in September of 2008. This coral originated from the South China Sea region of the Indo-Pacific. Steve Tyree is maintaining a seed section of this coral for Reeffarmers.com in an 125 gallon naturally filtered TriZonal system. This system is naturally filtered with a semi-cryptic zone, a semi-exposed zone and a reef flat exposed zone. In Steve's captive reef the coral is positioned to receive moderate light levels from a 400 watt 20,000 K Radium metal halide. The price of this coral per small fragment is $90.00. The quarterly limited edition reservation schedules can be found below.
