Key Lime Mango Sherbert Mycedium

Key Lime Mango Sherbert Mycedium Pookstreet Colony. This orignal colony has grown quite large and contains numerous corallites.
The first fragment Kenny has ever distributed of this coral was made for Reeffarmers and represents our seed section. The contrasting
orange corallites and green surface pigments are why Kenny gave the coral its Key Lime Mango Sherbert name.

The Key Lime Mango Sherbert Mycedium is an exotically colored Mycedium coral. The main surface of the coral develops a bright green to turquoise green pigmentation. This green contrasts strongly with the orange colored corallites. These corallites are surrounded with a dark green pigmentation. The mouth of the corallites contain pink pigmentation and the corallites themselves have various colored grains of pigment within them (see corallite closeup image below). The surface of the coral can contain a dense distribution of corallites (see corallite group image below) that gives small to large colonies a striking appearence. This coral was originally acquired by Kenny Hsi (pookstreet). Kenny located the coral in a southern California reef shop in 2006. We do not know where the coral was exported from. Kenny believes the coral does best in low to moderate light and moderate current. When growing into a large colony the edges of the coral can develop into a thin plating Echinophyllia appearence. Steve Tyree is maintaining a seed section of this coral for Reeffarmers.com in an 125 gallon naturally filtered TriZonal system. This system is naturally filtered with a cryptic zone, a semi-exposed zone and a reef flat exposed zone. In Steve's captive reef the coral is positioned to receive weak to moderate light levels from a 400 watt 20,000 K Radium metal halide. The coral appears to develop its best combination of colors when exposed to weak to moderate light levels. Price is currently $85 per small fragment containing two to three corallites. The bimonthly limited edition reservation schedules can be found below.
