Oxypora lacera
Rainbow Delight

Rainbow Delight Oxypora Reeffarmers Seed. The incredible pigmentation of the Rainbow Delight can be clearly seen
in this image. The puffed up Oxypora edges are bright pink with even some purple blue pigments. This thick pink
blue edge contrasts sharply with the red interior area. The red interior also contains some bright orange pigments
which are very intense around the corallite mouths.

What an incredible coral. Its pigmentation rivals the Watermelon Echinophyllia corals. This Oxypora has a meaty outer edge that primarily contains bright pink pigments along with some blue pigmentation. The corals inner surface area is colored deep bright red. Within this red area there are also some orange pigments. The orange pigmentation intensifies around the corals mouth area, which makes the polyp mouths appear bright orange within a bright red inner surface. Overall the corals pigmentation contains a Rainbow of colors. Reeffarmers acquired our seed colony from Jason Fox (jafautorepair@yahoo.com). This is a one-of-a-kind Jason Fox coral from his personnal collection which he has spent years acquiring from various sources. The Reeffarmers seed was a 100 % captive grown coral section that Jason grew from a small fragment he acquired in the year 2005. Jason believes that the initial fragment came from the South China Sea area of the Indo-Pacific. Steve Tyree is maintaining a seed section of this coral for Reeffarmers.com in a 125 gallon naturally filtered TriZonal system. This system is naturally filtered with a cryptic zone, filter feeder zone and reef flat exposed zone. Jason believes that this coral prefers low current. In Steve's captive reef the coral is positoned 14 inches away from a 400 watt 20,000 K Radium metal halide. The coral appears to develop its most intense coloration under moderate to strong illumination. Because the coral has a Rainbow of different pigments it is entirely possible that many different color morphs can develop under different light spectrums and different light intensities. Price is currently $165 per small sized fragment. The bimonthly limited edition reservation schedules can be found below.
