Limited Edition Triton Favia Reeffarmers Seed Section. An absolutely
beautifully pigmented coral. This Reeffarmers seed Triton Favia has developed the pink and blue corallite
ridge pigments. Also note the lines of green pigment along the left edge.
The Triton Favia contains solid blood red corallite centers. The ridges of the corallites are
primarily colored blue but also have green, pink and turquoise pigments. Pink pigments can
develop in the inner corallite walls. Green lines appear to be able to develop along the outer
edges. The corallite centers are pigmented similar to the Eye of Jupiter AE Coral.
Reeffarmers acquired our seed of this coral from Ian Borchert from Santa Barbara. Ian originally
acquired the coral from Tats Tropical Illusion in Ventura California. He had distributed 4 frags
of the coral when Reeffarmers acquired our seed.
The coral prefers moderate current and indirect weak light from 20K Radium Metal Halide bulbs.
Steve Tyree is maintaining a seed section of this coral for Reeffarmers.com in an 125 gallon
naturally filtered TriZonal system. This system is naturally filtered with a semi-cryptic zone, a
semi-exposed zone and a reef flat exposed zone. In Steve's captive reef the coral is positioned to
receive weak light levels from a 400 watt 20,000 K Radium metal halide. The price of
this coral per small fragment consisting of 2 polyps is $85.00. The quarterly limited edition
reservation schedules can be found below.
