This Echinophyllia orpheensis species coral has very large round corallites that have bright lime green centers. When maintained in bright light the areas located inbetween these corallites can develop pink violet pigmentation (see image above). When maintained under moderate to low light levels the coral can develop blue violet pigments inbetween the large corallites (see last image below). In low light corallite ridges will also darken in color. Reeffarmers acquired our farm section of this coral from Travis Heidt with Upscales - Fish and Reptiles located in Portland Oregon. In Steve's captive reef the coral is positoned to recieve strong light under a 400 watt 20,000 K Radium Metal Halide. The Auctioned Edition opening bid for each new auction is currently $135 per small sized fragment. Each small sized fragment will consist of one large corallite. The quarterly auctioned edition auction schedules can be found below. Please note - This Auctioned Edition was retired in June of 2008 due to the loss of Reeffarmers seed colony.
